January 1, 2007: 2006 is over, it wasn't your best year and it wasn't your worst. You want something different for 2007 but you are not sure what to do. Someone once said that the definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting to get different results each time. For 2007 to be different you have to change your life, a day at a time. For the next 365 days we will give you things to do each day. If you make an effort and follow the daily activities your reward will be a year to remember, the first of many. Who knows what or who you will be by this time next year. Though the activities may seem arbitrary, this is the only way to counter the arbitrariness of fate. So lets get started:
DAY 1 - Warm Up Since this is the first day of the rest of your life, you should warm up with an easy task that will only change your life a little bit: Choose three of the following: Do five sit-ups

on your desk, in the cafeteria, at the local library). If you want you can put a
small note in the book or on the item telling whoever finds it how much it means to

Learn another Spanish phrase today - Repeat it, please.
Repita, por favor. (re-(pi)-ta-por-fa-(vor)) DAY 9 - Philosphy lesson.
You don't have to actually answer the questions, just read them through and think
about the answers. 1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America contest.
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer prize.
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.
6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners. How did you do? The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no
second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies,
Awards tarnish, Achievements are forgotten, Accolades and Certificates are buried
with their owners. HERE'S ANOTHER QUIZ. SEE HOW YOU DO ON THIS ONE: 1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with. The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the
most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care. Remember, "Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It is already
tomorrow in Australia". Do five push-ups.

These days it's important to market yourself. Everyone needs a carefully
thought-out logo to represent their individuality and the exact benefit they bring
to society. Design yours, then have it printed on all your cups, shirts, book bags,
and other personal effects. Just a thought: In many respects Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 - 1750) did very well
for himself, composing and performing many top classical music moments, as well as
fathering an impressive twenty children. But how much better could he have done
with a logo? Do five push-ups.

show everyone how handsome or beautiful you are or were. But bad photos are bad
karma: they represent negative moments of your life and show you as boring, ugly or
demonic. Later in life they can be used by your parents, significant other or
spouse to embarass you at parties, with friends, etc. Burn these photos promptly. Do five push-ups.
Learn another Spanish phrase today - Wait a moment.
Espere un momento. (es-(pe)-re-un-mo-(men)-to) DAY 14 - Today Embrace Change For The Sake Of It.
Change is life and it is all around you. Force yourself to challenge the creature of routine within. You could take a different route to school or work. You could shower instead of taking a bath. Or you could eat something you thought you didn't like. Reconsider everything about yourself today.

There has to be something bothering you. Do you want your town to build a new park or maybe offer free lunch? What about your school, is there something you want changed? Do you want to change a specific law: Should teenagers be allowed to drive at 15 instead of 16? Whatever is bugging you today, write a letter to the
local paper and let them know your thoughts. Before you know it, you will be the
spokesperson for a local campaign. You could be elected Mayor of the town on the back of a wave of popular support. The next step is Congress and then the White House. If nothing comes up, then send us an email: info@get-thedl.com and tell us you want to be on the net and we'll help you acquire some virtual reality. Think about this. If you were to type in the name Pablo Pickasso (spelled wrong of course - correct spelling is Picasso) you will get approximately 153 results.
