Smarten Up Your Cellphone Tired of hearing how impressive your friend's Black Berry, Treo or smartphone is? Do you wish your phone could easily do email or other tasks? A company called TeleFlip, promises to deliver email and calendar entries to your phone for free regardless of your carrier and without downloading software. It works through SMS text messages that just about all cellphones can handle. When it goes live March 12, you will visit teleflip.com, type in your cell number, email address and password and sometimes a few other pieces of information, and you are done. TeleFlip will deliver messages twice an hour initially. The basic service is free (up to 5,000 messages a month). From Phipps Plaza in Atlanta to your local Target store, the one color considered too bleak for the holidays is making a splashy debut this season. The black Christmas tree's trendy roots go back to last year in England, where more black needle trees were sold than the green needle ones at some department stores. Here are some tips for a Black Christmas: 1. Avoid a barrage of brightly colored ornaments, otherwise the tree can look like a Mardi Gras costume. 2. Add mirrors, silver, copper and browns to warm the color and avoid an overpowering black look. 3. Consider going with a green tree with black accents to avoid a longterm commitment to black needles. 4. Consider the space for a black tree. A black tree with silver or gold ornaments may look better in living spaces with more clean, modern designs. 5. Remember, this is a fad, and this fad may be gone by 2007.
