March 24, 2007:

LaGrange High School played Hardaway High School on Friday, March 23, 2007. Though they took an early lead and led 7 - 1, LHS could not hold the lead. Hardaway came back in the fifth inning with six runs and then another two runs in the sixth inning to beat LHS 9 to 7.

March 24, 2007:

Though Callaway High School remained undefeated in Region 5-AA the team did fall to Berkmar (Class AAAAA) High School on Saturday, March 24, 2007.

Callaway head coach Dusty Hubbard was quoted as saying, "It was one of those days. We just didn't do a good job catching the ball." The final score was Berkmar (8) and Callaway (4).

Gardner Newman Middle School (GNMS) competed against six other schools (Central Carrollton, Bremen, Haralson, Callaway Middle School, Heard and Jonesville) on Thursday, March 22, 2007, at Heard County Middle School and both the GNMS boys and girls came away winners. March 21, 2007:

-Gardner Newman Middle School boys and girls track teams are fast, they out ran, out jumped and out performed four other schools (Cedartown, Rockmart, Jonesville and Mt. Zion) to win the Cedartown Invitational Track Meet held Monday, March 19, 2007, in Cedartown, Georgia.

The GNMS boys scored 178 points to take first place in the boys division and the GNMS girls scored 120 points to take first place in the girls division. Check out some of the photos from the meet.

TENNIS ANYONE?

LaGrange High School held it's annual Granger Invitational this past weekend (Friday, March 16 and Saturday, March 17).

The LaGrange High's girls team lost their two matches on Friday, but came back on Saturday to beat Holy Innocent. The LaGrange High's boys team lost their two matches on Friday and Saturday by a 3-2 margin. Teams from Kell and McIntosh captured the tournament championships. The LaGrange High School Grangers played the Columbus Blue Devils on Saturday, March 17, 2007. Both teams played well, but after seven innings the Blue Devils came out the victor, 13 to 6.
