November 13, 2006: 1968 Ford Mustang Hardtop Coupe

My name is Clark Klinkenberg and I am fifteen years old.

Last month my parents bought me a 1968 Ford Mustang Hardtop Coupe. Since I was about eight years old I have heard stories from my grandparents, my parents and friends of my parents about the five Mustangs (1965, 1966, 1967, 1968 and 1969) my father had when he met my mother.

When I turned fourteen, my parents asked me what kind of car I wanted to
get when I turned sixteen. I told them I wanted an old mustang so my Dad and I could spend some time together renovating it. About a year ago my Dad saw an old Mustang at a small car lot in Grantville, GA. The owner wanted more than my Dad thought it was worth so we began looking around for another Mustang.

Over the past year my Dad continued to stop and talk to the owner of the car lot, but the price still seemed to be higher than he was willing to pay. A few weeks ago on the way back from a Karate Tournament in Atlanta we stopped by the car lot and my Dad negotiated a good price for the car. The car needs some work but when we finish renovating it it will be the best looking car in Troup County.
